This is a nice day out to North Wales. It can be made into a longer day out too and most likely we will do so on a future trip 😊
Starting in Redditch (or Studley) make your way over to Bromsgrove and then take the A448 towards Kidderminster. This is a nice road with some nice corners, not many places to overtake if you get stuck behind someone.
When you reach Kidderminster take the A442 towards Bridgnorth. This road is great with plenty of sweeping corners, woodland and great views. Don’t forget to make a breakfast stop at The Food Stop Cafe at Quatford.
Suitably refreshed after a full English and a cuppa. Continue on your way to Bridgnorth, picking up the A458 towards Shrewsbury. At Shrewsbury pick up the A5, follow it towards Oswestry but before you get to Oswestry take the B4396 towards Knockin.
Meander along this road until it turns into the B4391 at Pen-y-Bont-Fawr. Then follow the B4391 all the way to Bala. This is actually the best road of the entire trip! When you get to Pencraig you will experience the most amazing road for a biker. Full of winding corners, very little between the road and the valley below, all on a backdrop of awesome scenery.
Once you get to Bala it is worth a slight detour along the B4403 to the Llangower Station.
Have a rest at The Loch Cafe overlooking Bala lake. When you are ready head home following the route in reverse.
